CPAT Online Privacy Statement

The Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC, “we”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement explains data collection and use practices of the online Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC Online -- www.fctconline.org) site (the “Site”), hosted by FCTC. It does not apply to other online or offline sites, products or services, either of FCTC or its parent organization, the California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CFFJAC). By accessing the Site, you are consenting to the information collection and use practices described in this privacy statement.
1. Collecting Your Personal Information
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you and allows us to link your schedule of written tests and CPAT events with payments. The personal information we collect includes your name, address, phone number, driver’s license number, gender and ethnicity. You are also required to designate a user name and password for your access to your FCTC Online registration and event schedule. You will be required to provide credit card information to schedule written test and CPAT-related events.
You, the FCTC Online user, bear sole responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of any and all information entered online.
2. Use of Your Personal Information
The personal information collected on this Site will be used to operate the Site and to provide the service(s) and carry out the transaction(s) you have requested or authorized.
We will use your email address to provide you with important information about the service that you are using, including confirmations and reminders of written tests and scheduled CPAT events. Your personal information is not sold or shared with any third-parties for the purpose of advertising or marketing any products or other services.
With your approval, we may send you information regarding job announcements from various fire departments.
FCTC may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on FCTC or the Site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of CFFJAC; or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of FCTC employees or agents, users of FCTC products or services, or members of the public. FCTC will disclose test result information and information contained in uploaded documentation of candidates on the FCTC statewide list to potential employers as part of their consideration of a candidate's qualifications for employment. FCTC will also release CPAT results as part of the background checks in the hiring process, to potential employers when requested to verify your participation in and completion of the CPAT.
FCTC will, from time to time, aggregate test results and demographic information of written test and CPAT participants. This is to fulfill FCTC reporting requirements. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. At no time are names, personal information or test results of any specific individual or group of individuals released or made public in any way.
3. Control of Your Personal Information
Except as otherwise described in this statement, personal information you provide on the Site will not be shared outside of FCTC Online without your permission
Please be aware that this privacy statement and any choices you make on the Site will not necessarily apply to personal information you may have provided to FCTC in the context of other, separately operated FCTC or CFFJAC websites, products or services.
You may register and pay for CPAT events without providing personal information online by contacting us.

5. Security of Your Personal Information
To be sure your personal information is secure we communicate this policy to all FCTC and CFFJAC employees and strictly enforce privacy safeguards within the organization and affiliated organizations.
We limit access to personal information to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide services to you in order to do their jobs.
FCTC is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer servers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities. Additionally, if we transmit sensitive personal information (such as a credit card number) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

We use cookies on this Site in order to facilitate the data entry technology. Information collected by these “cookies” is not collected, saved or used in any way.
